New Wallace Shawn Play Coming Along
Wallace Shawn (pictured) has written a new play, “An Evening at the Talk Club.” It received a reading last week in New York with a roster of strong performers, including S. Epatha Merkerson, Larry Pine, Josh Hamilton, Mike Nichols, and Lisa Joyce. The piece takes place at a social club, and the mood is dark, with flashes of wit. Scott Rudin is planning to produce the play, first in London with a mixture of British and American actors (not including Mr. Nichols), then in New York. I can’t wait to see it.
