Chris Ofili Has A New Show In NY
Chris Ofili — you know, the artist whose use of dung in a depiction of the Virgin got Giuliani all excited years back — has a new exhibition in New York. Boasting dazzling colors, utopian visions and – of course – a dollop of elephant dung, Ofili’s show is called “Night and Day” and is open at the New Museum. Click here to see some images from the retrospective, which encompasses the influential artist’s paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Shown is “Afronirvana,” (2002) — oil, acrylic, polyester resin, aluminum foil, glitter, map pins, and elephant dung on canvas. No word yet if Giuliani has seen the show.
