“AHS” Turns Kathy Bates Into A Freak
Well, she won an Oscar for playing a nut job crying “Mister Man!” in “Misery.” So I guess that Kathy Bates will survive her latest goony assignment, the bearded lady on “American Horror Story,” whose new season kicked off last night. I’ve never quite grasped the appeal of tuning in to this Ryan Murphy program, except to see how much more work Jessica Lange has had done since last season. But as Ethel Merman once said after seeing the play “Torch Song Trilogy”: “I thought it was a piece of shit, but everybody around me liked it so what the fuck do I know?”
