Trailer Arrives For “Inherent Vice”
The screen version of Thomas Pynchon‘s “Inherent Vice,” billed as a psychedelic SoCal detective tale, has finally arrived with a debut trailer. (Watch here.) The potential awards-season contender, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, stars a shaggy haired Joaquin Phoenix (pictured) as private investigator Doc Sportello. Anderson previously teamed with the star on 2013’s drama The Master, which nabbed three Oscar nominations. “Vice,” which first appeared on bookshelves in August 2009, was adapted for the screen by Anderson based on Pynchon’s novel. The film also features Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Benicio Del Toro and Maya Rudolph. The film is set for a world premiere Oct. 4 at the New York Film Festival.
