McConaughey Too Big For “Magic Mike” Sequel So Manganiello Is Pumping To Replace Him
He’s got an Oscar now, kiddies, so you don’t really expect he’s going to strip like some two-bit hooker looking to up his price, do you? In other words, Matthew McConaughey (left) will not be returning to the “Magic Mike” franchise. “Magic Mike XXL” director Gregory Jacobs, who has taken the reins from “Magic Mike” director Steven Soderbergh, confirmed that sad, sad news in an interview with IndieWire on Wednesday. Filming for the sequel is underway, and it’s been set for a July release. Don’t worry: Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, and Joe Manganiello (below) will be back.
