“Sweeney” Being Produced In Pie Shop
Wanna make a splash? Go for Pie and Mash. That’s what London’s Tooting Arts Club is about to do: next month, the organization is producing an intimate production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s “Sweeney Todd” at Harrington’s Pie and Mash Shop in Tooting in South London. Audiences will congregate at Anton’s barber shop before being shown through to the food shop, where the décor, little changed since it was opened in 1908, will provide the setting for Mrs. Lovett’s infamous establishment. No word on whether the audience will be served piping hot pockets during “The Worst Pies in London.”
