Neil Young Re-Releasing 1982 Movie
In 1982, Neil Young released a film that he co-directed, co-wrote, and starred in. “Human Highway” is a weird one, to say the least—an apocalyptic comedy that also features Devo, Dennis Hopper, Russ Tamblyn, Dean Stockwell, Sally Kirkland, and others. The film, which includes several songs from his synth-centric album Trans, got premiered at the Mill Valley Film Festival in 1982 before getting released on VHS and LaserDisc in the ’90s. After screening at the Toronto International Film Festival alongside a talk from Young, the film is getting re-released, Billboard reports. The newly restored and recut “Human Highway” will open at New York’s Film Forum in January and then get a wide release. Watch the new trailer here.
