Netflix Picks Up Rights To “Gotham”
Online streaming service Netflix has picked up exclusive rights to the upcoming Fox TV drama Gotham. Gotham, which stars Ben McKenzie (pictured) as a young James (later Commissioner) Gordon, is set in a pre-Batman Gotham City, and will tell the origin story of several Batman villains, as well as the story of Gordon’s early days on the police force, and his friendship with a newly orphaned Bruce Wayne. This is the first time that Netflix has snapped up the exclusive rights to a series prior to its premiere.
