Why No Female Superhero Movies?
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, struggles to come up with an answer, as analysis of box-office trends show that a “Black Widow” movie or “Guardians of the Galaxy” (whose Gamora, played by Zoe Saldana, is pictured) spin-off would likely hit big. Is it the “Catwoman” syndrome — fear that a good idea will go bust? Or lack of commercial imagination? Or just rank, indefensible sexism?
