The Year’s Best Pop Album?
That’s what The Guardian is saying about La Roux‘s second album, “Trouble in Paradise.” I like the title, as I watched the 1932 Lubitsch movie of that name just last week, and marveled at the level of silky sophistication. La Roux’s album is not silky; it’s upbeat and fun. I would hardly say it’s the best of anything, but it’s decent throwaway pop.
