“Thrones”, “Fargo” Lead Emmy Noms
The primetime Emmy nominations were announced this morning. “Game of Thrones” led the field with 19 noms, and “Fargo” grabbed 18. “Orange Is The New Black” did well, although I have to scratch my head at the fact that the two women nommed — Taylor Schilling, Kate Mulgrew — are both white, when the strength of the show is in its diversity. I mean, “The Normal Heart” got four noms in the supporting-actor category: “Orange” should have gotten at least that many in supporting actress! Instead, “Orange”‘s diversity was recognized in the “guest actress” category, in which Natasha Lyonne, Uzo “Crazy Eyes” Aduba, and Laverne Cox were recognized.
