“The Last Ship” Not Just A Sting Musical
“The Last Ship,” a new musical by Sting, officially opens its pre-Broadway engagement tomorrow night in Chicago. But the title of the show has just been stolen away, at least in terms of brand recognition: the new TNT program of that name has just debuted to excellent ratings. It aired on Sunday night, and delivered 5.3 million viewers for its premiere episode. The post-apocalyptic series about a naval ship stars Eric Dane (pictured). “The Last Ship” is the most-watched new series debut on cable so far this year. I fully expect people to show up at the Broadway box office for the Sting show and ask, “Is Eric Dane the star of this?”
