“Case Against 8” Airs Tonight On HBO
This documentary, “The Case Against 8,” offers an inside look into the case to overturn California’s ban on same-sex marriage, while following the team of David Boies and Ted Olson that took a federal marriage-equality lawsuit to the U.S. Supreme Court. This documentary has not come in for quite the drubbing that has Jo Becker‘s recent book on the subject, “Forcing the Spring,” but the movie does tend to elevate Boies and Olson as the titans in the marriage equality movement, when in fact that movement has been in motion for decades and has had many important figures.
