Michael Palin’s “Brazil” Series On PBS
The long-time traveloguer Michael Palin — of Monty Python — made a series about Brazil that aired a while back on the BBC. The programs are being shown this week on PBS, to coincide presumably with the world’s attention focusing on Brazil with the World Cup. I watched last night’s episode about the Amazon. The informational insights were eager, but I loved watching Palin move about tribes whose existence is being threatened by modern development. And the series had to carry a disclaimer up front because the tribal women sported more bare breasts than an episode of “Game of Thrones.”
