Exhibit Takes A Peek At Lingerie
A new exhibition at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, which has just opened, examines the history of underwear, from 18th century woollen corsets to the invention of the modern bra. I love the idea that this Fernande Burel tea gown, made of chiffon, silk and lace, around 1900, is considered an undergarment.
