Star Of “Sissi” Films Dies At 86

We’re not talking sissi as in RuPaul‘s “sissi that walk.” We’re talking sissi as in the “Sissi” films of the 1950s, in which Karlheinz Bohm, who has just died, played the Austrian emperor Franz Joseph opposite Romy Schneider. Bohm also had the leading role in Michael Powell’s 1960 serial killer classic “Peeping Tom” (pictured), in which he plays the creepy, cinematic voyeur Mark Lewis. Final fun fact: Bohm was the only child of the noted conductor Karl Bohm and the soprano Thea Linhard.
