Aretha Wants To Do Broadway — Sort Of
So Aretha Franklin is interested in doing Broadway — “After Midnight,” in particular, the classic-Harlem, dance-delightful musical that has been running with soloists such as Fantasia and k.d. lang, with Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight to appear this summer. But there’s a hitch for Miss Aretha: she only wants to do three or four shows a week. So Michael Riedel proposes that Diana Ross do the other four shows. There wouldn’t be a ticket to be had.
