But everywhere I went around New York this past weekend, as we approach Memorial Day, I heard Mr. Fire-Ranger-Hat exhorting us to clap along to his Smokey Robinson-tinged vocals and peppy beat. And the “Happy” video is pure summer-tinged fun: bopping around sun-drenched streets.
