Philly Art Museum Releases Gehry Designs
What I like best about the just-released designs from Frank Gehry‘s proposed expansion of the Philadelphia Museum of Art: Virtually no changes will be visible from outside the building. Yet the project will eventually add 78,000 square feet of new gallery space, including 55,000 square feet carved under a terrace. “Making a Classic Modern: Frank Gehry’s Master Plan for the Philadelphia Museum of Art,” an exhibition detailing the museum’s future with models, site plans, digital images, and floor plans, will be on view from July 1 to Sept. 1 in the museum’s Dorrance Galleries.
