Patrick Stewart To Star In “Blunt Talk”
Patrick Stewart is set to star in a new television series as a British newscaster who crosses the pond to try his hand in the world of US cable TV. Premium cable network Starz announced this week that it had put in a two-season, 20-episode order for the live-action comedy “Blunt Talk.” The show will follow British newsman Walter Blunt (Stewart) in his efforts to succeed in the cacophonous world of US cable news. Predictably, the opinionated Blunt is plagued by a dysfunctional staff and an even more dysfunctional personal life. Jonathan Ames of HBO’s “Bored to Death” is the series’ creator and showrunner. Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane is the executive producer.
