The Knife Is Creating Political Cabaret

No surprise here: On their website, indie-snob favorite the Knife have announced that they’re collaborating with the art group Ful to set up an “anti-national cabaret” called Europa Europa. They’re writing new music for the traveling political activist project, which is specifically about “Sweden and EU’s migration politics”. It premieres July 1 in Visby, Sweden, and more dates will be announced later. Europa Europa’s website (translated from Swedish) says the cabaret is meant to “highlight the human rights abuses that Sweden and the EU commits every day through the common asylum and migration policy.” They say they’re celebrating migrants “defying cameras, dangerous water, barbed wire, police violence and compact political resistance.”
