Blanchett To Star In Lesbian Love Story
Cate Blanchett, who is headed for another Oscar or my name isn’t fruity, will star in the next movie from Todd Haynes: “The Price of Salt.” Those of you who, like moi, worship at the altar of Patricia Highsmith, know that “Salt” is her 1952 romance novel that is considered groundbreaking for its gay themes and for the fact that it was one of the earliest lesbian stories with a happy ending. Costarring with Blanchett will be Sarah Paulson, currently the racist lady of the manor in “12 Years A Slave,” and Rooney Mara.
