I’m Not Surprised The Theatre Collapsed

I’ve gotta be honest: more than once I’ve looked up at the ceiling of the Apollo Theatre in London and wondered about its soundness. And I’m sorry to say that my inklings were proven right on Thursday. Some 76 people were hurt when ornate plasterwork at the Apollo fell during a production of “The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time.” Reports suggested water dripped through ceiling cracks before it fell. According to the BBC, Westminster City Council is expected to report later on a structural assessment of the 112-year-old West End theatre. The National Theatre, where “Curious Dog” originated, had been talking about bringing the show to New York. I wonder if the bad karma from the Apollo accident will scotch all that.
