Angela On That “Murder, She Wrote” Remake
Miss Lansbury appeared last night on Tavis Smiley’s PBS chatfest. She’s 88 and couldn’t be more up-to-date on show biz goings-on. She spoke again about why it’s a mistake to remake “Murder, She Wrote” as a TV series, while being careful to praise the program’s announced star, Octavia Spencer. The real news in Angie’s Tavis interview, however, was that she and James Earl Jones, who did “Driving Miss Daisy” in Australia, may be doing a play on Broadway next year. No details. Possibilities, in my mind: “The Chalk Garden”? “The Gin Game”? I’m hoping they do something new.
