Treme’s Simon: U.S. “Is A Horror Show”
David Simon (pictured), the creative force behind “The Wire” and “Treme,” which had a new episode last night, just delivered an impromptu speech about the divide between rich and poor in America at the Festival of Dangerous Ideas in Sydney. He talks about how capitalism has lost sight of its social compact. Some of the speech is awfully preachy — and a lot of it rings very true.
