Gilliam Starting Up “Quixote” Again
While Monty Python is putting together a reunion, one of the gang’s members, Terry Gilliam, is saddling up for a seventh tilt at his disaster-prone dream project: “Don Quixote.” (Paging Orson Welles!) Gilliam was famously forced to scrap his dream project when the Spanish set of “The Man Who Killed Don Quixote” was hit by flash floods in 1999, a disaster that was catalogued in the captivating documentary “Lost in La Mancha.” Jean Rochefort (pictured with Gilliam) In November 2008 he claimed that the project, which initially starred Johnny Depp, Jean Rochefort and Vanessa Paradis, was to reshoot . Two years later it emerged that Ewan McGregor would replace Depp, with Robert Duvall set to step into Rochefort’s shoes as the Don himself. Endless!
