“Parallax” Gets JFK Conspiracy Right

“Parkland” and other recent movies about JFK’s assassination show just how far to the right Hollywood has shifted. At least that’s the Guardian’s view. Alan J Pakula’s classic film “The Parallax View,” however, treats the conspiracy angle with more intelligence. The story concerns a reporter’s dangerous investigation into an obscure organization, the Parallax Corporation, whose primary enterprise is political assassination. Warren Beatty was the star. (Btw, Pakula’s stepson was my college roommate. Pakula produced “To Kill A Mockingbird.)
