Obama/Weinstein Movie Conspiracy?
President Obama is planning a special White House screening of The Weinstein Co.’s “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” this Thursday. Idris Elba (pictured), the title star of the movie, which will be released in NY and LA on November 29, will be in attendance, as well as Mandela’s two daughters. But here’s what I want to know: why has Obama spoken out about his admiration for “The Butler” and is now screening “Mandela” but has still not mentioned whether he has seen “12 Years A Slave”? Could it be that the first two pictures are released by The Weinstein Company, headed by Obama backer Harvey Weinstein, and “12 Years” is a Fox Searchlight release? The answer seems patently obvious.
