YouTube Music Awards Honor Eminem
Last night, Arcade Fire and M.I.A. performed live at the first-ever YouTube Music Awards. At one point, Win Butler (in a Ramones shirt) pulled a Kanye and interrupted a Taylor Swift acceptance speech to declare Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” the real YouTube phenomenon of the year. (Taylor wasn’t there.) Eminem, whose latest video I’m ashamed to like because it’s so irredeemably homophobic, won Artist of the Year. YouTube ain’t politically correct.
