“Homeland” Wasn’t Built To Last

I tend to agree with Brian Lowry‘s assessment of the current quality of TV shows airing at 9 pm on Sunday: “The Good Wife” is exciting, “The Walking Dead” is fun, and “Boardwalk Empire” has once again become a must-see. That leaves “Homeland,” which Lowry notes has declined in quality fairly steadily (with an occasional great episode) since the midpoint of last season: ‘It seems unlikely “Homeland” can fully snap out of its doldrums. In other words, those complaining that the show isn’t approaching the operatic heights of its first season had better get over it, because at this point, it looks like it is what it is.’
