Happy Belated Birthday To Edith Head
I missed her birthday yesterday, so let me make up for it today: Edith Head still holds the record for most Oscar wins by an individual woman: eight, all for her costume designs. Her wins include two for Audrey Hepburn movies, “Roman Holiday” and “Sabrina,” but it was Head’s work on Hitchcock films such as “Vertigo,” with Kim Novak (pictured), that have ensured her place in the cinematic firmament.
