Outrage At Stallone’s Exhibit Of Paintings

Not everyone in Russia is thrilled that an exhibition of paintings by Sylvester Stallone has gone on display in the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. Some folks see it as something of an outrage that a hobbying painter – particularly one whose most famous films have been described as outright anti-Soviet propaganda – could be given pride of place in one of Russia’s most prestigious museums. Please! I’ve been to that museum and seen a lot worse than what comes off of Sly’s easel. And the action star does have a sly sense of humor. At least I hope he was indulging in humor when he said: ‘I think I’m a much better painter than an actor.’ Then again, maybe he is.
