Ozark Epic Will Be Baah-ing No More
I’m pulverized by this news: The open-air historical drama “The Shepherd of the Hills,” in Branson, Missouri, is closing. I’ve never been to Branson, but I’m still sad to hear that the play that has run longer than any show on Broadway and helped build Branson into something akin to a Midwest Las Vegas, without the sin, will be no more. The play about Ozark life has been staged every year since 1960 and is described as a drama, love story, and mystery mixed with some religion. Its sprawling cast includes 30 horses, five mules, and a flock of sheep. What will happen to the sheep?
