Your Weekend: A Selective Guide
Movies: “Gravity,” starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, is a mind-blowing must-see. Crazy I know, but I wanna watch the Metallica flick. Television: Lifetime’s “House of Versace” movie, with Gina Gershon as Donatella, premieres Saturday at 8. And we’ve returned to the Sunday-night pile-up: “Good Wife,” “Homeland,” “Boardwalk Empire,” but thank God “Breaking Bad” is over! Music: Justin Timberlake’s “20/20” sequel isn’t nearly as good as the first CD. And new Christmas albums are already topping the charts. Stop the madness! Books: Elizabeth Gilbert, who wrote “Eat Pray Love,” has a new novel, “The Signature of All Things,” that’s grabbing strong reviews. Sports: Loving the fact that the NFL’s best teams (Denver, Seattle, New Orleans) aren’t from the usual, overhyped media markets (New York, Boston, L.A.). Another small market, Pittsburgh, is my only interest in the MLB playoffs. Finally: I’d like to find a city with October weather year round.
