Emily Mortimer Comedy Lands At HBO
Any of you who watch “The Newsroom” can understand why I have such an affection for Emily Mortimer (pictured). I’ve tended to associate Mortimer with drama, so I’ll be eager to see her in this new project: a six-episode TV comedy called “Doll and Em.” Created by real-life best friends Mortimer and fellow British actress Dolly Wells (“The Mighty Boosh,” “Spy”), the program is about a British Hollywood star (Mortimer) who hires her childhood friend (Wells) to be her personal assistant during production on a Hollywood movie. HBO has picked up the series for U.S. broadcast. Can’t wait.
