Sting Musical: CD Due Next Month
Songs from Sting’s musical, “The Last Ship,” will be released as an album next month. It’s his first new record of original material for a decade. Known for his explorations into jazz and classical, Sting incorporates traditional Northumbrian pipes, shanties and reels. I’m liking it. The show will be produced in Chicago in 2014 prior to Broadway. If you don’t think such music can be a hit on the Great White Way, I have one word for you: “Once.”
