Mega-Stars In Heaven Arrive For “Butler”
If all the stars in Lee Daniels‘ movie “The Butler” were Oscar voters, then the competition would be over right now. But even if the flick, which comes out next week, doesn’t win statuettes, it certainly won the award for the splashiest Hollywood premiere of the year — held in New York the other night, at the Ziegfeld. Tout le fucking monde arrived to the glare of flashbulbs: The top diva prize, though, had to go to Mariah Carey, whose studded sling looked like a prop from some leather freak’s dungeon. Meanwhile, director Daniels is not doing himself any favors in the Oscar race by giving too-candid interviews like this one.
