Dozens Of Stars Show Support For Pussy Riot
In case you haven’t been paying attention, Russia’s harshness toward anyone perceived as outside the mainstream is reaching gross proportions. Putin and his government are cracking down mercilessly on gay people, as Harvey Fierstein noted yesterday in The New York Times. And there is the ongoing cruelty toward the punk band Pussy Riot. Now, stars including Pete Townshend, Madonna, and Adele have offered words of support to the jailed punk rockers while urging Russian authorities to grant them parole.
