MTV Moonman Gets A New Look

Artist KAWS, who’s reinterpreted several other icons, created a new version of the trophy for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards ceremony on August 25. It will be held in Brooklyn (what took them so long?). The iconic trophy has been given a face-lift by artist KAWS, who rose to fame during the mid-’90s with his graffiti tags and reworkings of bus stop ads. Since then, he’s worked with Nike and Marc Jacobs and designed a balloon of his Mickey Mouse-inspired character, Companion, which flew in last year’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
