Supreme Court Decision: Is Everybody Gay?

Today’s Supreme Court decisions won’t satisfy everyone: they didn’t establish that same-sex marriages be allowed in all 50 states. But by striking down Section 3 of DOMA the Court at least established (for now) that the federal government must recognize same-sex marriages for purposes of all kinds of benefits. Let the bureaucratic wrangling begin! Meanwhile, any time I think about the words “gay” and “marriage” in the same sentence I’m drawn back to Joan Cusack‘s rant in “In & Out” when she discovers her fiance is a same-sexer. I hope social conservatives tear their hair out as maniacally as Joan does!
