Alas, Paris Suffers From Organ Failure

Maybe it’s because I was a boy organist, picking up pocket money by playing the pipe organ at weddings. Or maybe it’s because I once heard Olivier Messiaen play the organ at a Paris church, La Trinite. Whatever the motive, I felt moved by this story about how church organs in Paris are suffering from lack of funding for repair. One exception: the organ at Notre Dame (pictured), which recently underwent a renovation.
