Getting Oral With Heavy-Metal Bands
Slash, Lita Ford, Dokken, Mötley Crüe (pictured), and more share the wildest stories from the heyday of L.A.’s Sunset Strip in “Louder than Hell: The Definitive Oral History of Metal.” I picked up this book at the store the other day and was amazed at how long I browsed it. (Excerpt here.) Not a surprise, I guess: I’ve always been a closet metal-head, but it’s one of those predilections, like watching football and Nascar, that I hide from some of my fancy New York friends.
