Cannes Warms To Coen Brothers Film
The Coen Brothers got a warm welcome from Cannes’ red carpet crowd on the world premiere of their competition entry “Inside Llewyn Davis.” Many of the reviews (here and here) were of the five-star variety, though I have to admit I trust that of Owen Gleiberman in ew.com. Why? Because he says “Inside” is more like the Coens of “Barton Fink” and “A Serious Man” than of “Fargo” and “No Country for Old Men,” which sort of counts me out, because I don’t care for the first two flicks but love the latter pair.
