Kim Novak To Light Up Cannes Festival

The Cannes festival opens today, but I’m already looking forward to the final day, on May 26. That’s when 80-year-old Kim Novak (pictured) will attend the closing ceremony and award an as-yet unnamed prize. In between these dates, Novak will be present for the screening of a restored version of Alfred Hitchcock’s psychological thriller “Vertigo,” which will be shown as part of the Cannes Classics series. In their announcement of Novak’s appearance, the festival organizers called “Vertigo” Novak’s “greatest performance.”
