Ricky Gervais Going Back To “Office”
I guess being denied Golden Globes hosting duties has him scrambling for another gig. Or maybe the fact that “The Office” is now done in the U.S. made him think its niche needed re-filling. Whatever the reason, the character Ricky Gervais made famous through his BBC-turned-NBC hit comedy “The Office†will return to life on YouTube via a series of videos that kick off May 20. The program will be part of YouTube’s weeklong festival. Gervais, who released a teaser for the series on his YouTube channel Tuesday, revived Brent in the form of a mock tutorial, “Learn Guitar with David Brent.†He’ll play full songs in character like the ones first introduced on the series, including “Spaceman Came Down.â€
