“Downton” To Begin On January 5
The fourth, Matthew Crawley–less season of “Downton Abbey” will debut January 5, 2014, in the U.S. and — of course — well before that in the U.K., and well before January for the millions of American viewers who download the show illegally. Here is why PBS won’t air the shows simultaneously, if that helps. My favorite reason: “Downton” drew lots of viewers from the Super Bowl.
