How To Become A Hipster: NY Times
When future historians discuss a date for the official demise of the New York Times, they’d better start with May 1, 2013. That’s the moment when the Grey Lady attempted, once again, to lift up her tweedy skirt and take a peek at what the kids are up to. The paper sent a writer (a generally good writer: Henry Alford) to Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood, to ferret out the subculture known as hipsterism. Too bad that the rest of the world’s media did that story, oh, about five years ago.
