TV: “Rectify” Is Off To A Promising Start

The Sundance Channel’s “Rectify,” from the producers of “Breaking Bad,” has a terrific premise: Death-row inmate Daniel Holden (Aden Young, pictured) is released after serving 18 years for raping and murdering a girl. How will he adjust to the outside world when he has been cooped up in a small cell for so long? Monday night’s first two hours of this six-hour series established a stoic but psychologically rich mood. Still, I’ll withhold my verdict on the program until it’s ended. Some reviewers of the whole thing have complained about its eventual storytelling.
