Andre Gregory Finds Love Once Again
“My Dinner with Andre,” Louis Malle’s unclassifiable movie about a meal shared by Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory, remains one of my favorite films after all these years. And I must rather shyly confess that I, too, have been lucky enough to have had dinner with Andre: he was thoroughly charming and talked mostly about “Vanya on 42nd Street,” the movie of his and Shawn’s Chekhov project also directed by Malle. Gregory is having a lively time of it again, as described in this new documentary about him, which Variety and others love.
