What? Superman’s Native Tongue Is Spanish?
Last night, Pulitzer Prize winner, MIT professor, and certified genius Junot DÃaz (pictured) sat down with Stephen Colbert to discuss his work with Freedom University, a school for undocumented students who were banned from attending Georgia’s five most competitive state schools. (Video here.) Unsurprisingly, Stephen Colbert wasn’t on board with undocumented immigrants “taking American thoughts and ideas,” but DÃaz tried to win him over by pointing out that Superman didn’t enter the country legally. “What?” asked Colbert. “On Krypton, do they speak Spanish?”
